On 7 August, CanCham Vietnam members had the exclusive opportunity to visit Saigon Newport Corporation – also a valued CanCham member – and tour its Cat Lai and Hiep Phuoc terminals, getting a behind-the-scenes look at how these major ports keep Vietnam’s trade moving.
Cat Lai Terminal is one of Vietnam’s key container terminals and a major gateway for import and export cargo in the Southern region, playing an important role in connecting Vietnamese businesses with international markets.
Hiep Phuoc Terminal, strategically located along the Soai Rap River, is part of Saigon Newport’s growing port network and contributes to the development of efficient maritime and logistics connections in Ho Chi Minh City and the wider Southern economic region.
During the visit, members learned about the sophisticated, nonstop operations behind these terminals – from cargo handling and logistics coordination to technology and innovations that help improve efficiency and keep trade flows moving.
The visit gave our members a closer look at how Saigon Newport works with both Vietnamese and international partners, as well as its plans for further development, technology and new services. It was also a great opportunity for our members to connect, exchange ideas, and explore potential business and partnership opportunities with each other.
Ports are more than just places where goods arrive and depart – they are critical gateways connecting businesses, supply chains, and economies to the world.
