HANOI, VIETNAM, 8 September 2026 – The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (CanCham Vietnam) launched its new Hanoi Committee at the Friends of Canada Reception, marking an important milestone for CanCham and the Canadian business community in Northern Vietnam.
Gathering almost 100 business leaders, officials, and friends of Canada at the JW Marriott, the launch marks an important step in strengthening CanCham Vietnam’s presence in the capital and creating a stronger platform for Canadian businesses, investors, professionals, and partners in Northern Vietnam.
The launch reception was supported by the Embassy of Canada in Vietnam and brought together representatives from the Vietnamese government, the Canadian Embassy, businesses, investors, partners, and members of the wider Canadian community.
The CanCham Vietnam Hanoi Committee was established to bring together companies, investors, professionals, and friends of Canada; strengthen connections within the Canadian business community; and build meaningful relationships with Vietnamese government authorities, local businesses, and international partners.
Through the Hanoi Committee, CanCham Vietnam aims to create more opportunities for networking, business dialogue, and engagement in Hanoi and surrounding provinces.
The Committee will bring businesses and partners together through events, roundtables, and other activities, while creating more opportunities for Canadian companies and investors to connect with the right people and partners.
His Excellency Jim Nickel, Ambassador of Canada to Vietnam, said:

CanCham Vietnam President, Zach Herbers, added:
“Vietnam is Canada’s largest trade partner in ASEAN, and while bilateral trade has increased since the CPTPP entered into force, we want to go further and increase the profile and presence of Canadian business in Vietnam. This new committee, which has been a long time in the making, gives us a platform with which to build on the strong trade and investment ties between our two countries and help our members to thrive with a newly increased presence in Vietnam’s Capital Region.”
Jack Nguyen, CanCham Vietnam Board Member and Chair of the Hanoi Committee, said:

The Hanoi Committee gives CanCham a dedicated presence in the capital and provides a foundation for the Chamber to further develop its activities and relationships across Hanoi and Northern Vietnam.
The official announcement was made during the Friends of Canada Reception, bringing together representatives of the Canadian and Vietnamese communities to celebrate this important milestone.
As CanCham Vietnam continues to grow, the Hanoi Committee reflects the Chamber’s commitment to supporting its members and contributing to the Canada–Vietnam business dialogue.
