CanCham Vietnam at InnoEx 2026: Fostering Innovation and Cross-Border Partnerships

On 19–20 August 2026, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Vietnam (CanCham Vietnam), in collaboration with the Embassy of Canada to Vietnam and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Vietnam, participated in InnoEx 2026 at Thiskyhall Sala. Centered on the overarching theme “The Inflection Point,” this premier regional innovation event convened over 30,000 visitors, 4,000 CEOs and policymakers, and 300 exhibitors alongside international startups, investors, and trade delegates across more than 60 countries and territories.

Throughout the two-day showcase, the CanCham Vietnam exhibition booth served as an active point of connection for entrepreneurs, technology innovators, and corporate leaders. Chamber representatives engaged directly with visitors, highlighting emerging trade opportunities between Canada and Vietnam, presenting sector capabilities, and discussing strategies for navigating global supply chain shifts in an AI-accelerated business environment. The booth also provided an ideal gathering point to welcome CanCham members, exchange market insights, and establish meaningful groundwork for cross-border collaboration.

A central highlight of Day 2 was CanCham’s featured contribution to the afternoon forum session. CanCham Executive Director Laurence Newman delivered a keynote address titled “Unlocking Canada–Vietnam Business Opportunities,” addressing how both economies can leverage their complementary strengths to drive sustainable, high-value growth.

Key takeaways shared during the forum included:

  • Beyond Natural Resources: Expanding traditional perceptions of Canadian industry, Laurence emphasized Canada’s leadership across advanced knowledge-driven sectors, including artificial intelligence, clean technology, life sciences, modern agri-food systems, and sustainable aquaculture.
  • Capitalizing on Complementary Strengths: Pairing Canadian research, technical expertise, and innovation frameworks with Vietnam’s dynamic domestic market, high-growth startup ecosystem, and entrepreneurial drive creates fertile ground for mutual commercial expansion.
  • Building and Co-Creating Together: Future bilateral engagement must progress beyond conventional buyer–seller transactions toward joint ventures, co-developed solutions, and fortified value chains capable of enduring global disruptions.

CanCham Vietnam expresses our sincere appreciation to the Embassy of Canada to Vietnam and UNDP in Vietnam for their valuable collaboration, and to all members, industry peers, and guests who joined us at our booth and during the forum sessions. We look forward to transforming these connections into enduring commercial partnerships as we continue bridging the Canadian and Vietnamese business communities.
