Emilie Carrier (BA Hons [Political Science], Université Laval, 2008; MA [Public Administration], École nationale d’administration publique, 2010), joined Global Affairs Canada in 2009. She currently serves as Commercial Counsellor and Senior Trade Commissioner at the Embassy of Canada to Vietnam.
Previously, she served as Deputy Director of Inclusive Trade Policy, where she led negotiations with ASEAN, Indonesia, Ecuador and during the CPTPP General Review.
Her previous roles include Departmental Advisor to the Minister of International Trade (Asia-Pacific and business development) and Second Secretary Commerce) at the Embassy of Canada to Indonesia and Timor-Leste, where she managed the natural resources sector and responsible business conduct. Earlier, as Senior Coordinator, she led domestic outreach and stakeholder engagement for trade initiatives, including CPTPP consultations and Go Global events
