CanCham recently concluded a productive working trip to Hanoi, marked by high-level institutional dialogues and strategic engagements with key local members and partners.
As part of ongoing efforts to expand bilateral trade and investment between Canada and Viet Nam, CanCham leadership met with representatives from the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to deepening business ties through joint trade promotion activities, incoming business delegations, networking initiatives, and closer collaboration with the Embassy of Canada in Vietnam.

Discussions highlighted priority sectors for future cooperation, including agriculture and food, energy, aerospace, rules of origin alignment, and strategies to maximize commercial utilization under existing free trade frameworks, particularly the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). As Canadian business interest across Southeast Asia accelerates, both CanCham and VCCI expressed strong confidence in fostering sustainable economic growth and creating new pathways for market entry.

In addition to institutional engagements, the CanCham delegation conducted a series of member visits to catch up with Hanoi-based businesses, including CEI, Fairmont, and ENNZA. These meetings provided valuable insights into current market dynamics, operational updates, and tailored chamber support to assist member growth in northern Viet Nam. CanCham also held discussions with Impact Investment Exchange (IIX) to advance upcoming trade and investment promotion initiatives set to roll out in the coming months.
CanCham extends its sincere gratitude to VCCI for the constructive meeting and to the team at CEI for their warm hospitality during the office visit. The Chamber remains committed to serving as a vital bridge between Canadian and Vietnamese enterprises to unlock long-term commercial opportunities.
