CanCham Vietnam attends HCM City Export 2024

Wednesday morning, May 8, 2024, representatives from the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Vietnam attended the Opening Ceremony of Ho Chi Minh City Export 2024.

The annual Vietnamese export goods fair - HCM City Export 2024 organized by the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City in coordination with the Department of Trade Promotion (Ministry of Industry and Trade) with the participation of 400 businesses held its open ceremony on 8 May 2024 at SECC, Ho Chi Minh City.

According to data from the General Department of Customs and Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department, in the first 4 months of 2024, export turnover through ports in Ho Chi Minh City reached 12.5 billion USD, an increase of 69.2% over the same period in 2023.

Among them, many products have impressive export growth such as textiles and garments reaching 1.2 billion USD, an increase of 40.3%; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reached 912.8 million USD, an increase of 40.6%; Other means of transport and spare parts reached 241.4 million USD, an increase of 47.1%; wood and wood products reached 175.6 million USD, an increase of 80.3%; handbags, wallets, suitcases, hats and umbrellas reached 141.8 million USD, an increase of 47.7% etc.

To continue to develop exports, Ho Chi Minh City needs to focus on developing creative and high-tech industries to create even higher added value for export products. At the same time, continue to promote and improve product quality, invest in research and technology development, create favorable conditions for businesses to develop and expand export markets.

In this context, HCM City Export 2024 is one of the activities and events accompanying businesses to remove difficulties and obstacles in production and business, promoting the export of goods. The fair focuses on key export commodity groups such as food, beverages, agricultural and aquatic products, wooden furniture and fine arts, textiles and garments, footwear, handbags, rubber, plastics, electronics and mechanics.
