Canadian Chambers of the Indo-Pacific (CCIP)

One Canadian Business Voice Across the Indo-Pacific

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce Vietnam (CanCham Vietnam) is a proud member of the Canadian Chambers of the Indo-Pacific (CCIP), a regional network that unites Canadian chambers and business councils across Asia-Pacific to strengthen trade, investment, and business collaboration between Canada and the Indo-Pacific region.

About CCIP

What is the Canadian Chambers of the Indo-Pacific?

The Canadian Chambers of the Indo-Pacific (CCIP) is a voluntary network of 21 independent Canadian chambers of commerce and business councils operating across the Indo-Pacific region. The network was established to strengthen Canada’s economic engagement in one of the world’s fastest-growing regions and to provide a unified voice for Canadian businesses operating across Asia and the Pacific.

CCIP serves as a platform for collaboration among Canadian chambers, enabling members to:

  • Share market intelligence and business insights
  • Coordinate advocacy on trade and investment issues
  • Strengthen relationships with Canadian governments and regional stakeholders
  • Organize joint trade missions, conferences, and business initiatives
  • Promote Canadian business interests throughout the Indo-Pacific region

Why the Indo-Pacific Matters

Canada’s Future is Connected to the Indo-Pacific

The Indo-Pacific is home to more than half of the world’s population and represents one of the most dynamic economic regions globally. As Canada diversifies its international trade relationships and supply chains, the Indo-Pacific has become a strategic priority for Canadian businesses and policymakers.

Through CCIP, Canadian chambers are helping businesses access opportunities in sectors including:

  • Trade and investment
  • Advanced manufacturing
  • Clean technology
  • Infrastructure
  • Digital economy
  • Agriculture and food
  • Energy and critical minerals

CanCham Vietnam as a Founding Member

On April 16, 2026, CanCham Vietnam joined 20 other Canadian chambers and business associations across the Indo-Pacific in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishing the Canadian Chambers of the Indo-Pacific (CCIP). The signing ceremony was witnessed by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and senior Canadian government representatives.

As Vietnam is Canada’s largest trading partner in ASEAN, CanCham Vietnam plays an important role in supporting Canadian businesses seeking opportunities in Vietnam and throughout Southeast Asia. Through CCIP, CanCham Vietnam contributes to regional collaboration while helping amplify the voice of its members on issues affecting trade and investment between Canada and Asia.

“Vietnam is Canada’s largest trade partner in ASEAN. As a member of CCIP, CanCham Vietnam aims to give an even stronger voice to our members and help them build stronger trade relationships and open new growth opportunities in bilateral trade.”

— Zach Herbers, President, CanCham Vietnam
